Atlantic City, NJ – March 30, 2023 – Atlantic City’s meetings and conventions have returned steadily over the past year, and Visit Atlantic City is inviting industry leaders and meeting planners to choose Atlantic City for their meetings and conventions. In 2023, Meet AC announced its rebranding to Visit Atlantic City to better encourage pride in the Atlantic City community with a fresh and authentic identity. In celebration of Global Meetings Industry Day, Visit Atlantic City has released a video in the theme of “Meetings Matter,” showcasing meeting and event spaces, the importance of in-person meetings, and the impact meetings and events have on the local community. In 2022, Atlantic City hosted 209 events resulting in 264,551 room nights resulting in $300,006,165 in economic impact.

“Last year was an impressive year for in-person meetings and conventions in Atlantic City, and this year is projected to be even better,” said Visit Atlantic City President and CEO, Larry Sieg. “In the first quarter of 2023 alone, we hosted 18 events that have resulted in an economic impact of $62,663,443. Atlantic City’s meeting and events industry is a key economic driver that increases visitation into our community and delivers commerce to our local small businesses. We plan on supporting local businesses as much as we can with our ongoing support of in person events, meetings and conventions.”

Meetings in Atlantic City accounted for 38 percent of all business travel in 2022, and that number is expected to grow as businesses continue to remember the societal importance of face-to-face meetings. The theme of this year’s Global Meetings Industry Day is “Meetings Matter.” As in-person meetings and events drive visitation into the destination, Visit Atlantic City returns $34 for every $1 invested in Luxury Tax Revenue to Atlantic City's economy for local business growth. Flexible meeting venues in Atlantic City are surrounded by historic attractions, pristine beaches and exciting entertainment, making it the ideal destination for meeting planners.

Overall, Atlantic City offers 1.8 million square feet citywide over 16 properties of meeting and event spaces. Throughout the entirety of the destination, planners can access 17,626 rooms, 315 meeting rooms, over 8,644 committable rooms and 2,511 suites.
