EVENTS WILL GENERATE MORE THAN 7,000 ROOM NIGHTS AND $6 MILLION IN DELEGATE SPENDING FOR ATLANTIC CITY

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (Monday, October 26, 2015) The Atlantic City Convention Center will welcome more than 8,500 educational leaders at the 2015 Annual New Jersey School Boards Workshop and the Import Expo Car Show, which will take place throughout the week.

Local Atlantic City businesses are expected to greatly benefit from the two events this week at the convention center. The estimated delegate spending is expected to reach $6 million. In addition, more than 7,000 room nights have been contracted by convention center visitors throughout the week.

The 2015 Annual New Jersey School Boards Workshop will kick off at the convention center on Tuesday, October 27 through Thursday, October 29 and will host more than 7,000 educational leaders from across the state of New Jersey. The annual workshop is the largest training and information conference for school officials in the state and will offer more than 200 individual sessions to New Jersey’s local school officials. School officials attending the Workshop will get answers to their questions on closing the achievement gap, lowering district operating costs through alternative energy solutions and using technology to improve the delivery of education. The theme of this year’s Workshop is, "Empowering the 21st Century Student,” which represents the hope and aspiration for New Jersey’s public schools.

The convention center will close out the week by welcoming more than 1,500 car enthusiasts at the 2015 Import Expo Car Show on October 31. More than just a typical car show, attendees will encounter some of the most modified vehicles that the East Coast and Canada have to offer.

“We are so proud to host these amazing annual events in Atlantic City and witness the positive impact it has on many individuals. The educational leadership from across New Jersey has an opportune time to learn and network with their peers. While visitors attending the Import Expo Car Show will walk away in awe at seeing this nuance of car culture right here in AC,” said Karen Totaro, General Manager, Comcast Spectacor at the Atlantic City Convention Center.
